This wine is made from one of the world's most famous and most widely grown wine grapes; Merlot; the dominant variety in some of the worlds classic wines such as Chateau Petrus.

The grapes are 100% handpicked in late April from un-grafted and pre-phylloxera French rootstock. The wine is aged in a combination of French and Californian oak for 12 months before bottling.

The wine is powerful, rich and seductive with a refined nose, showing plum and cherry aromas combined with notes of violets, vanilla and bitter chocolate. Smooth and round on the palate, with an exquisite and long finish. Medium to full bodied. Has good cellaring potential.
