More time for others and for yourself.
Life doesn't always need to be complicated. Sometimes the simplest things are the best things - a quickly prepared meal with the perfect wine can seem like a banquet fit for a king. Your loved ones will thank you for spending time with them rather than in the kitchen – fridge leftovers, cold cuts and a fresh salad served with the perfect wine paired with a healthy dose of good conversation make these moments special.
Sauvignon Blanc is rightly one of the best varieties for informal occasions largely due to its versatility. Both the Old and New World produce outstanding examples of this grape – try a few to find your favourite.
The fruity charms of the Merlot make it one of the most famous grapes in Bordeaux as well as around the world and it can produce the perfect easy drinking red wine.
The flavours of a Sauvignon Blanc excite the palate with grassy notes, hints of gooseberries and a lively freshness. It is the perfect grape for spontaneous occasions held with friends or family.
Plummy, soft and smooth with a mellow aftertaste – it is easy to understand why Merlot is so popular with many wine lovers.
Both grape varieties match perfectly with all styles of dishes. Even without food, they can be enjoyed with your loved ones late into the evening - why not try the outstanding Lobster Key Marlborough Sauvignon or our unique rich and fruity Lonely Road.
How about a clever potato recipe?
Rosemary potatoes with sea salt
Wash and cook the potatoes in salted water until almost tender then drain them.
Preheat the oven to 220 ° C.
Drizzle some olive oil into a bowl and add in one tablespoon of sea salt, a little freshly ground pepper, four cloves of garlic and the fresh rosemary.
Coat the potatoes with the olive oil mixture, place them on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
They can also be wrapped in aluminium foil and then grilled on your BBQ for around the same cooking time.
