Now not only has the Western Cape Pinotage a new style of label depicting one of these animals but due to the phenomenal success of this wine it has received the great accolade of joining the Cape Root collection.

Ripe red berries complimented by a gentle spice
Benefiting from a Mediterranean like climate, the red wine production of the Western Cape is concentrated in the high-lying vineyards of the region. Considered the King of South African grapes, the Pinotage grape needs the high altitude to extend its “hang time”, to ensure development of its tannin ripeness and to eliminate its rough edges (you can always tell Pinotage from low-lying vineyards by its banana and nail varnish aroma). Properly cultivated Pinotage is South Africa’s greatest grape variety) Pinot Noir and Cinsault cross) and our unique style, fruity and rich, is very popular with our clients world-wide (our Pinotage has residual sugar levels halfway between Chevalier de Bayard and Mundana).
