The Dorsheim vineyards are our sites with the steepest slopes. The orientation to the south means high sun exposure.Selective harvesting in several harvesting passes and a careful pressing of the grapes followed by six months of storage on the fine lees. The fruit aromas with notes of peach and mango in conjunction with the minerality characterize this full-bodied wine. A juicy Riesling with a lot of melt and harmoniously integrated acidity. Typical for the lower Nahe, the wine offers further potential for aging in the future.

About this wine from

Nahe, Germany

The Pieroth Estate, located in the Nahe growing region, is an inspiring place full of history. The vineyards are characterised by a variety of soil types. Riesling & white Pinot varieties form the core of our wine portfolio. Gentle processing and harvesting by hand as well as minimal intervention in the cellar define our craft.

Wine and Food pairings

A good partner for freshwater fish dishes. We like a roasted trout with herb butter and potato wedges excellent with this wine.

About the winemaker

Pieroth Estate

The Pieroth family’s estate, located in the very centre of the village of Burg Layen, is an inspiring place packed with history. The Pieroth family settled in the Nahe region back in 1675 and started to sell great wines at the beginning of the 20th century. At the confluence of the Rhine and the Nahe, in the magical triangle formed by the wine-producing regions of Rheingau, Rheinhessen and Nahe, various terroirs come together in a way unlike anywhere else in Germany. There are 180 varieties of soil in the tightest possible space here. This is unique in Germany and rare even in Europe.
