Hajós-Baja, Hungary

Hajós is located in southern Hungary on the Alfold Plains (the great Plains of Hungary) which used to be the riverbed of the Danube. Due to the ideal soil conditions and continental climate (hot dry summers, cold winters) this is the heart of Hungary’s wine area. Hajós is known as the village of a thousand cellars, all of which are maintained by the local winemakers. With the development of Pieroth’s partnership with exclusive boutique vineyards stretching back over many decades we continue to respect this tradition by producing high quality wines matured in both stainless steel and oak casks.
