One of the most popular Spanish wines in our range for years. It captivates with its powerful and at the same time velvety character. It is made from 100% Monastrell grapes, a variety that finds ideal growing conditions in the hot and rainless southeast of Spain. In the glass, it shimmers black-red with strong purple reflections. Aromas of dark berries, herbs and hay are gently surrounded by hints of nutmeg. The tannins are supple and surrounded by a distinct and characteristic sweetness.

About this wine from

Murcia, Spain

Jumilla is a town and wine-growing region in the Murcia region of Spain, west of Alicante. The average rainfall here is only 300 mm per year, which is just about the limit for vines to still thrive. Typical for the area is the Monastrell grape, also known as Mourvedre in France, which is still cultivated in over 85% of the vineyard area.

Enjoy this sweet red wine with spicy cheeses. Of course, it also cuts a great figure solo.

About the winemaker

The Duque de Montebello brand impressively represents the diversity of Spanish qualities, from elegant white wines to fresh rosé and powerful red wines to sherry, the delicious pleasure from the south of Andalusia. Spain is a country full of cultural and diverse contrasts. Pride, temperament and passion are not only found among the people, but also in Spanish viticulture, which has been an integral part of society for centuries. Enjoyment and the pleasure of new discoveries without neglecting traditional values have always characterised wine production.
