The grape variety Monastrell, which is also known as Mourvèdre in France, is widely cultivated in the eastern regions of Spain around Valencia and Murcia. It needs a hot, dry climate for it is very late ripening.Already the strong rosé colour signals pure south, also the fragrance inspires and reminds of red fruits like raspberries, strawberries and cherries. In addition, there is a subtle spicy note that is characteristic of Monastrell. The taste is well-balanced with a delicious interplay of freshness and very fine fruit sweetness, which lets the wine finish gently and charmingly.
