This top class Sauvignon Blanc reflects the very best of this region’s vineyards close to its coastline and keys
Stretching out from the northern tip of New Zealand’s south island is an array of islets full of peace, tranquillity and home of some of the finest lobster in the world. Marlborough Sounds is a collection of ancient sunken river valleys filled with the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Forested hills rise steeply from the sea around an intricate coastline of sheltered inlets and sandy bays. The grape variety that put New Zealand on the international stage is the Sauvignon and it is still a favourite with 90% of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc coming from Marlborough. Lots of sun, cool nights, low autumn rains and free draining alluvial soils combine to make Marlborough one of the world’s great wine producing regions. In 1973, as Marlborough’s first Sauvignon Blanc vines were being planted, no one could have predicted that this variety would attain superstar status within a couple of decades. The explosive flavours of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc are now enjoyed by wine drinkers throughout the world, setting the international benchmark for the style.
Enjoy with seafood, white meat dishes and summer salads.
