Produced in Rheinhessen, our Mainzer Domherr Beerenauslese is a sweet white wine made from a blend of two grape varietals, Ortega and Solaris. The wine has a rich golden colour with aromas of ripe tropical fruits, such as pineapple, mango, and papaya, intermixed with floral and honey notes. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, with a good acidity that counterbalances the sweetness. The flavours are complex, with layers of fruit, spice, and honey that linger on the finish.

A well-balanced sweet wine wine from Germany
Rheinhessen is Germany’s largest wine producing region nestled between rolling hills and is bordered to the west by the Nahe River and to the northeast by the Rhine. The land is very fertile and unlike the Rhine or the Mosel, many other crops are harvested here in addition to the many vineyards that cover approximately 20% of the area. The prime vineyard sites are in a concentrated area along the steep west bank of the Rhine, known as the Rheinterrasse (Rhine terrace).
This wine is typically enjoyed as a dessert wine, paired with sweet dishes like fruit tarts, cheesecake, or crème brûlée. It can also be enjoyed on its own as an after-dinner drink.
