This Vine Dried Shiraz from Australia is a unique and robust red wine that offers distinct flavours and aromas. It is produced through a unique drying process that involves leaving the grapes on the vine for an extended period before harvesting. This effectuates an intensified, rich fruit flavour. The wine typically displays a vibrant, deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers complex and inviting notes of ripe dark fruits like blackberry and plum, often complemented by hints of spices like pepper, vanilla and subtle undertones of oak derived from aging in barrels.
On the palate, vine dried Shiraz is full-bodied and rich. It features concentrated flavours of ripe, sun-drenched fruits reminiscent of raisin, figs or prunes, along with darker notes of chocolate or coffee. The sweetness of the grapes is balanced by a robust tannin structure and good acidity, making for a wine that is juicy yet well-rounded.

The constellation, Crux Australis, or the Southern Cross (Mirrabooka), was regularly used for navigation down through the ages, by both European navigators and the Aboriginal people. It lies a third of the way between the equator and the southern celestial pole. Its stars vary in brightness, one being of the first magnitude, two of the second magnitude, and one of the third magnitude. The neighbouring stars Alpha and Beta Centauri are known as the Pointers.
This Australian Shiraz also has a lingering, velvety finish that nicely encompasses its fruit intensity and complex spice notes. It's a perfect companion to rich, flavourful dishes such as grilled red meats or mature cheeses.
