About this wine from

Veneto, Italy

Veneto, the fifth largest region in Italy, was part of the Roman Empire until the 5th century AD. The region’s capital city Venice ruled for centuries over one of the largest and richest maritime trade empires in the world and was the birthplace of Marco Polo the renowned explorer. In the northern Italian regions of Friuli and Veneto, Pinot Grigio is one of the most important grape varieties. Here you will find especially calcareous soils due to the Dolomites. This gives the wine a mineral character. A grey veil covers the dark skin of this grape. The colour indication “grigio” (grey) is a note of a pigment variation, as there are lighter and darker berries.
