The wine enters the glass in a rich ruby red, releasing a bouquet of sun-ripened cherries and juicy blackberries, perfectly complemented by a fine liquorice note. On the palate, these flavours are intense and velvety at the same time. The finish is rounded off by balsamic hints. Riserva means that the wine has to age for at least 4 years in the cellar before being sold – this wine aged two years in French barriques followed by bottle aging.

Taurasi is located in the hills directly inland from Naples, already considered as one of the best wine producing areas in ancient Roman times. Taurasi, from the Latin ‘Tauras’, hence the label, has the reputation for some of the best Italian Red wines. It‘s considered as the Brunello of the South! The Aglianico-vines are direct descendants of “Vitis Hellenica“ brought to Campania by the ancient Greeks.
