An excellent representative of lovely Italy
Vallagarina IGP is a key IGP title and was introduced in 1995 to be used in Trentino-Alto Adige, northern Italy on the borders of Austria and Switzerland, an area best known for the beauty of its peaks. It covers the Vallagarina district in southern Trentino, named after the Lagarina Valley which marks the lower sections of the Adige River's journey through the Limestone Alps. Positioned right below Austria at the tiptop of Italy, Alto Adige lies in a ‘Y’ shaped glacial valley, this little valley used to be the main passage between Italy and the rest of Europe. Because of its position as a gateway to Italy, Alto Adige was the focal point of conquest from the ancient Romans to the Nazi regime. It became part of Italy in 1919 and there are up to three official languages: Italian, German and Latin Language of inhabitants of the Dolomites.
The aromas of summer fruits followed by tastes of ripe berries which flourish on the palate make this an ideal wine for social drinking on the patio or as an accompaniment to roast lamb and blue cheese.
Originality, passion and the desire to enjoy - Conte Ottavio Piccolomini stands for an original Italian attitude to life. Each wine is typical of the respective region, in its style, character and taste. Always on the lookout for classic wines and modern novelties, selected winegrowers and cellar masters work together to meet the high demands. Whether it is a delicious everyday wine or an elegant growth, we always work to the highest quality standards. Our winemakers and cellar masters combine modern ways of winemaking with regional traditions, giving each of our wines originality and individual character.
