Cognac is distilled exclusively from white wines. The main grape variety in the area is Ugni Blanc (also called Saint Emilion), with Folle Blanche and Colombard grown to a lesser extent. V.S.O.P cognacs such as Edition Noir are among the best cognac qualities: this shows what can be created, if you carefully select wines of the best quality with a high aromatic potential and distil these gently.
Enjoy at the end of a good dinner or with a mild and aromatic cigar. Goes well with almond or nut chocolate and nougat confectionery.
