About this wine from

La Rioja, Spain

The Rioja region is situated in Northern Spain, south of the Sierra Cantabria and follows the Ebro river. Wine production here dates back to the 800’s and as is quite common in the Mediterranean wine culture it was pioneered by monks. Most Rioja is a blend of various grape varieties from more than one sub-region, but Tempranillo is the principal grape in most Rioja blends.
